A Community For Practicing Waking Up

Most Of Your Life Is On Autopilot

You don’t notice you’ve fallen asleep. That’s what asleep means.

How It Happens

A thought becomes a story.
The story becomes real.
You react.
It feels true.

Then, for a second, you see it.

I’m afraid. I’m telling myself a story. I’m trying to control this.

What’s a Shift?

shift

noun

The moment you see what’s been running you, and stop being it.

The fear is still there. The thought is still there. Nothing outside you changed. But you're not inside it anymore. You're watching it. And now you have a choice.

It happens in a second. It's easy to miss. The practice is learning to catch it.

Catch the shift.

What We Practice

AWARENESS

Can I see it?

Notice what’s running you, while it’s running.

Can I stay?

Feel it without running, fixing, or becoming it.

CAPACITY

Can I choose?

Respond. Wait. Do nothing. Anything but the old pattern.

CHOICE

So why is this so hard?

Because knowing isn't doing. You can read the books, meditate every morning, go to therapy, have the breakthrough. And still get swallowed whole by fear on a Tuesday.

You don’t wake up once. You wake up, forget, catch it, and come back again. Again and again.

"The old story may still arise. Whether it wins is up to you."
