Questions

What happens in a class?

Each 45-minute class combines a little learning, guided practice, and time to reflect.

Learn. Practice. Reflect.

Every class is different, but the practice is the same: building our capacity to stay present, aware, and connected to choice.

Do I have to share or talk?

No. You can share when invited or practice quietly. Nothing is expected of you.

I've never done anything like this. Is that okay?

Absolutely. No experience or background is needed. Just show up and practice.

Why practice with other people?

Because we learn from each other.

Witnessing another person stay present with their own experience can help us recognize what's possible in ours. We practice for ourselves, learn from each other, and build capacity together.

Shift is a practice. It's also a community.

What if I get emotional?

That's okay. Emotion is part of being human.

You're invited to notice what's happening and stay with yourself at your own pace. You never have to explain, share, or push beyond what feels manageable.

Is Shift therapy?

No. Shift is an awareness practice, not therapy, and stewards are not acting as therapists.

Shift is designed to help you practice awareness, presence, and capacity. It is not a substitute for mental health treatment or crisis support.

Do I need any equipment?

No. For online classes, find a reasonably quiet place where you can be uninterrupted for 45 minutes.

Does my camera need to be on?

No. Camera on or off. Choose what allows you to participate comfortably.

How big are classes?

Up to 25–30 people. Enough people to experience community without putting anyone on the spot.

What do classes cost?

The first Shift classes are free.

They're an opportunity to experience the practice, be part of the first community, and help shape what Shift becomes.

When paid classes begin, drop-ins will be $20 and unlimited membership will be $49/month.

Can I cancel an unlimited membership anytime?

Yes. No contract. No cancellation fee.

What if I miss a class with unlimited membership?

Nothing. Come when you can. Your membership gives you access; it doesn't create an obligation.

How do I become a steward?

Start by practicing with us.

Stewards should understand Shift from the inside — not simply learn how to lead a class. Attend classes, experience the practice, and if it feels like something you want to carry forward, learn more about the Steward path.
